    DeQuimet says:
I really wanted to like Tumbleseed, despite its difficulty and awkward controls (they work but it's hard for me to wrap my mind around). I knew of these two points before buying, but I thought I'd enjoy it more.

The biggest downside for me is not having any sort of progression system. Recent game in the Procedural Death Labyrinth genre like FTL and Rogue Legacy reward the player with a minimal progression with each run, with a skill tree or unlocked items. Tumbleseed has none so it's more like an arcade/highscore game.
